NICER NICER DESCRIPTION

The aim of this project was to make a hypermedia book in CD-ROM format about the Fine Arts Museum of Asturias.

NICERNICER
SOLUTION

Within the surviving patrimony of the museum, which has more than 8000 works of art in the inventory, 1000 works have been selected, and 50 of which have been commented. The works of art selected are thought to be representative of the current collections of the museum. The selection, which includes a work of art from one of each selected artist, offers a short and basic visit through the main genders, techniques, and artistic styles you can see in the museum.

A study of the different buildings of the museum, which are so important due to their architecture, has also been developed.

The project has been divided in three sections:

Information

This section shows the museum general data as well as a presentation video.

The buildings

This section shows a study of the two buildings the museum houses: El palacio de Velarde and la Casa de Oviedo-Portal. These buildings are treated like any other work of art in the museum. The sections of the study are: author, outside, inside and planimetry. In order to show this information we 3D mechanisms.

The collections

In order to facilitate the access, there has been made a first classification in: Painting, Sculpture, Industrial and Decorative Arts, Drawing-Graphic Art-Photography.

Each work of art is analysed from different points of view: index card of each work of art, analysis of it, and its chronology. Zoom, voice in off, and a video are the mechanisms used to introduce us in an enjoyable way to this study.
